Molloy College LOTE High School Program

  • Teachers must apply with their résumé, a course outline, and a copy of the final examination.
  • Teachers with a masters degree will be approved.
  • Teachers who are native speakers will be approved.
  • Others must take part in an “interview”.
  • A minimum number of years of experience is not required.
  • Department chair determines approval, which is then sent to the vice president of academic affairs for final approval.
  • Molloy visits classroom once a year.
  • Students can earn 3 or 6 credits per year depending on how we design the course.
  • Most schools allow 3 credits for the year-long high school course.
  • Fee $60 per credit. Teachers give students a letter grade; there is no minimum numerical grade. Most colleges require a C or better for the credit transfer.
  • We can offer levels 1 and 2 over the course of one school year.
  • Our district can submit one course outline for approval for all three highschools.Each teacher would still have to be approved.
